MCH Advisor for AusAID East African Regional Office (one year)
For the newly established AusAID Office in Addis Ababa, Dr Jarl Chabot provided technical advice to initiate several MCH interventions in Ethiopia, Tanzania and South Sudan for a total value of AUD 140M. The work included preparations of various design and implemeentation documents, required for funding by the Australian government.
Take forward the IHP+ for FMOH Ethiopia
For the Federal Ministry of Health in Ethiopia (and with funding from DFID) an inventory was made of the status of the International Health Partnership (IHP+) in the country with the aim to revitalize the Paris and Accra commitments between FMOH and its Development Partners (DPs). The team developed a roadmap in close collaboration with all stakeholders, showing the way to bring most DPs closer to align to One Plan, One Budget and One report.
Rwanda MTR of the second Health Sector Strategic Plan (HSSP II)
Dr Chabot was team leader of a multidisciplinary team, reviewing the Rwandan HSSP II. While in-country the report was drafted, discussed, finalised and endorsed by the MOH. Important achievements and challenges were highlighted. At the end of the report several recommendations were provided to MOH (based on the JANS attributes) that will help the Ministry to draft its next five year strategic plan (HSSP III).
